Broken Heart by Marius Alexandru

If I were the sky,
I would wait for you to rise,
to feel your soft and tender lips
kissing my eyes.
I am just the earth,
and when you rise,
I feel the pain,
I turn to dust and cry.

If I were a composer,
I would write musical notes in a bouquet,
and I would lay it down
at your feet in a beautiful song,
If I were a painter,
I would paint on the canvas,
red butterfly the colors of love.
I am just a romantic poet in love,
and my love's poetry book is forgotten,
full of dust on an old library shelf.

If I could fly,
I would pick you a bunch of shining stars,
and I would make each sunrise,
a precious gift for you in the morning,
I would put the rainbow at your feet,
and I would shout out my love for you
from the mountain's tops, every day,
only to hear the echo responding; I love you.
I am just a lost soul,
and I walk in the rain trying to
hide my tears among the raindrops
that somehow caresses my broken heart.
