A Dead Tree On A Distant Shore by Suchoon Mo

long ago
when you were very young
you sat alone on the beach
and wrote you name on the sand
then the ocean waves came quietly
and carried it away

far away
to a distant shore
where today a lone dead tree stands
still bearing your very name
lost and gone
long ago
