The Art of No-Task by Don Brandis

We stand with open hand before we ask
the fog is thinning, features may emerge
what is, what was, what will be are no task

we watch them swirl and eddy not quite blank
with attitude disguising, what? No fate?
We stand with open mind before we ask

Mountains, seas conspire as plains extend
A lazy stretch, a yawn awakening
What is what was what will be are no task

Endless afternoon, earworm melody
some are projects, some are clearly not
We stand with open hand before we ask

We missed the bus; no matter, it was lost
as we are. Any fool can tell
We stand with open mind before we ask
What is was will be saunter as no task
